SOGGIORNARE A PEGLI

I Palazzi delle "Reti Rosse" si trovano nel Lungomare di
Pegli ai civici N. 19, N. 21 e N. 23. Si tratta di tre
palazzotti dell'antico borgo di Terrarossa abitati in
origine da pescatori pegliesi.
Il soprannome "Rei Russe" era stato dato, in realtà, ai tre
edifici che sorgevano - lato mare, con confine sulla
spiaggia - demoliti nel 1935 per lasciar spazio alla nuova
passeggiata. Furono chiamati così perché i pescatori, che nei
fondi dei palazzi avevano le loro cale dove tenevano gli
attrezzi da pesca, tingevano anche le reti in grosse pentole
sopra il fuoco e con dentro il tannino di color rosso. The buildings of the "Red Nets" are located on the seafront of Pegli at numbers 19, 21 and 23. The place where these three buildings were built was called "Terrarossa" and they were originally inhabited by the fishermen from Pegli. The nickname "Rei Russe" was in reality given to the three buildings that stood on the seafront, bordering the beach and demolished in 1935 for the construction of the new promenade. They were called in that way because the fishermen, who had their coves in the foundations of the buildings where they kept their fishing gear, dyed their nets in large pots over a fire with red tannin inside. |
